The Final Chapter of the 2016 Dunlop MSA British Touring Championship Begins As All Roads Lead to Rockingham
Rounds 22, 23 and 24
The BTCC weekends have been coming thick and fast lately as the business end of the season arrives in Northamptonshire.
All eyes will be on the spectacular Rockingham Speedway this weekend as temperatures are set to rise within the British Touring Car Championship. The race for the 2016 crown is currently closer than ever with 201 points still up for grabs between now and the end of the season.
Arriving at the 1.94 mile circuit, the BTCC will provide dramatic spectator viewing as the championship contenders battle it out around the grandstand section of the Speedway Oval. Incorporating the tight hairpins of the infield circuit and the fast sweeping bends of the speedway, Rockingham never fails to deliver thrilling entertainment.
Colin was the driver in form at Knockhill last time out as he made clear his intentions for this year’s title.
Taking a podium in race 1 and a 4th in race 2 he provided plenty of entertainment.

This will be the first time the Rockingham BTCC event has been held over the August Bank Holiday weekend with fans also being treated to an added ‘element of unknown’ for the drivers and teams.
Instead of nominating the Dunlop SOFT tyre, the Dunlop HARD tyre must be used for one of the three races. The teams have had very limited running on the hard option of rubber and will be entering into new territory on this Rockingham surface.
“This is the last big push for points in the Championship and I am determined to make the final three events my strongest. We have achieved so much already with the Levorg for year 1, but now is not the time to stand still. Rockingham is such a superb location for the BTCC and it still excites me to see that spectacular speedway.”
“I feel fresh and energized by our recent form and I’m hoping this will give us the edge over the others.” Colin Turkington
